Chaminade Hotel
Santa Cruz, CA
Originally a monastery, this property transitioned to a boys’ school before becoming a hotel. Our goal was to create a getaway in the forested hills of Santa Cruz that preserved the historical character of the property.
I coordinated the architectural and interior design aspects of the project including aligning aesthetics in guest rooms, main building, restaurant and bar with original Mission Style; installing new fireplaces; making space ADA compliant; bringing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems up to code; and getting permits from the city and approval from the planning department.
